Today I Will Make A Difference

September 1st, 2010

Today I will make a difference.  I will begin by controlling my thoughts.  A person is the product of his thoughts.  I want to be happy and hopeful.  Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful.  I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances.  I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters.  I will avoid negativism and gossip.  Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark.  Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me.  Time is a precious commodity.  I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety or boredom.  I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant.  I will drink each minute as though it is my last.  When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever.  While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving.  Today I will make a difference.  I will not let past failures haunt me.  Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures.  I admit them.  I will correct them.  I will press on.  Victoriously.  No failure is fatal.  It’s OK to stumble…I will get up.  It’s Ok to fail…I will rise again.  Today I will make a difference.

I will spend time with those I love.  My spouse, my children, my family.  A man can own the world but be poor for lack of love.  A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships.  Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world.  Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening.  Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.

Today I will make a difference.

Athletes and Chiropractic Jerry Rice

A quote from Jerry Rice, “Chiropractic care has been instrumental in my life, both on and off the field, and I am excited to share this with the American public.  I have been blessed with a long and healthy career as a professional athlete, and as I move forward into the next stage of my life, chiropractic care will continue to be an important part of my game plan.”  Listen to Jerry Rice and make chiropractic a part of your health game plan.

Challenge!!

August 26th, 2010

Today I ask you to participate in a game I want to call Chiropractic Fact or Fiction.  As the days progress and more Facts and Fiction are added I will be able to provide you with the questions to your chiropractic questions.

To begin:

Fact or Fiction?

Question:  All Chiropractors are the same.

Answer:  Fiction.  Chiropractors vary on many aspects.  The two that are the most distinct our technique, the way him or her adjusts.  For example, myself as a chiropractor I utilize my hands to adjust.  Other chiropractors use instruments, such as an activator.

The other way that Chiropractors vary is based off of philosophy.  Again, myself as a chiropractor I believe that not only getting each individual out of a pain is a goal but my long-term goal is to maintain his or her spine so that for the rest of his or her life he or she can withstand the pressures that gravity is placing upon his or her spine.  Also, some chiropractors believe they can address pain issues.  I have witnessed in my practice the power of chiropractic being much more than that.  From helping children with ADHD, an elderly individual with osteoporosis, to a women with amenorrhea, no longer have that issue and now have the possibility of starting a family.  Again, for any specific chiropractic questions contact Dr. Amber Grover at ChiroZone at 952-994-0988.

Ames, Iowa

August 14th, 2010

It is interesting.  My family and I took a trip this weekend to visit more family in Ames, Iowa.  It is interesting as the news portrayed that the flooding was extreme and we thought the trip would be dangerous.  Last night upon arrival, I was shocked to see that most of the roads were clear and that there is pretty much a two mile radius still with water.  However, the damage had been done, my nephews’ daycare was flooded leaving them without a place to go for at least a week and their permanent daycare needing a few months, to replace carpet and any toys within close distance to water.  Also, right now if you want to drink water or do dishes it all requires boiled water.  This is just a reminder that you don’t know the privileges you have until they are gone.  So where am I going with this, just like this essential part of life involving water, your health is the same.  You always assume you are going to have your health and can make a multitude of sacrifices to try and maintain it the way you know as health.  But once you lose your health, like the water, it changes everything.  Act before having to change your health, contact Dr. Amber Grover at ChiroZone to see if chiropractic can ensure your health for now and into the future.

When Your Hear the Word Arthritis What Do You Think Of?

August 6th, 2010

In a meeting I had a few weeks ago, a women found out that I was a chiropractor and stated,”I have aches all over my body but that is because I have arthritis!  Can you do anything for that?”  My response was Yes.  Arthritis is an overuse injury of a joint.  The reason myself, as a chiropractor, can assist an individual with arthritis because by adjusting a joint, or placing it back in the proper position, it allows that joint to function properly and the body no longer needs to create a solution to an abnormally functioning joint.  Think of it this way, your tire is out of alignment, do you still drive on the tire?  Of course, not.  Then don’t overuse, or drive, your body when parts of your spine might be out of alignment creating arthritis.  To see if chiropractic can assist you in slowing the progression of arthritis, contact Dr. Amber Grover at ChiroZone at 952-994-0988.

Our Patients Speak!!

July 20th, 2010

A patient describes her initial condition as, “I had pain in my left hip for about a month.  It was hard for me to sit and sleep.  I also had neck pain.”  Now, she describes how her condition has changed since arriving in our office.  “I walk backwards more often :)   That is what Dr. Amber tells me to do and it does help!  But really, I am feeling a lot better!  In fact, I am feeling close to 100% better and some other conditions have improved for me.”

This patient came to our office as you can see above due to hip pain.  However, she now understands that chiropractic is about allowing your body to function at its optimum and with that said she has found unexpected benefits.  “I do sleep better, feel more relaxed, less headaches, relief from plantar fasciitis and amenorrhea.”

If you or someone you know just wants to change one aspect of his or her life, call ChiroZone and Dr. Amber Grover at 952-994-0988 to find out if chiropractic can help!

Independence Day!

July 8th, 2010

What does Independence Day remind you of?  For me each year it reminds me of those who have served our country so that I could have my independence.  However, with that said I worry about those who don’t have his or her own independence both inside and outside this country.  This year it reminds me of those who are living their lives with something they want to change but just are not sure how to do it, maybe it is losing weight, having less stress, or just getting rid of some nagging condition they have had for years.  Through chiropractic multiple people’s lives have been changed and their futures brightened in a way they never thought possible.  Do you have something that you want to change in your life?  Can chiropractic help you?  To find out more contact Dr. Amber Grover at ChiroZone at 952-994-0988.

Posture affects Function

June 10th, 2010

When was the last time you looked in the mirror, this morning probably?  Have you ever had a picture taken of yourself from the side?  If you haven’t then you should take a harder look because your posture, which is an indication of your body’s structure, ultimately affects how your body functions.  As a chiropractor I deal with the bones of spine which serve to protect your nervous system.  Your nervous system affects every tissue and organ in your body.  Therefore, if your posture is abnormal, thus a shoulder is higher than another, or your feet turn out or in when you walk, ultimately that can affect your body’s ability to function and lead to multiple symptoms for you.  So take a look at your posture and if it appears abnormal, contact me, Dr. Amber at ChiroZone and allow me to determine if it is ultimately effecting your body’s functioning and leading to the symptoms you might be experiencing.
